Mac OS X Mail 1.3

Mail is the solid, powerful and easy to use email program built into Mac OS X, and its smart spam filters will get rid of practically all junk mail for you.

Email has become so important that most operating systems come with at least one email client. So does Mac OS X, and Apple has done a great job. Mail sports a clean, easy to use interface to its powerful features. With its nice support for multiple POP, IMAP, Exchange and .Mac accounts, versatile mail filters and message threading Mail is flexible enough for most needs. Additionally, it comes with an email client's killer feature: smart anti-spam filters that learn from your decisions and make it easy to get rid of the junk while they leave good mail alone. Virtual folders that automatically show you all mail matching certain criteria or searches would make a nice addition to Mac OS X Mail's email management arsenal. While you can read HTML emails properly and securely in Mail (using Safari rendering), Mail's own message editor lacks HTML support and a bit of plain text power, too. Message templates are completely missing as well. Together with Keychain Access, which offers quite flexible and comfortable certificate management, Mac OS X Mail makes it easy to digitally sign and encrypt email messages using S/MIME. Signing mail is even enabled by default.
